The Capital City Grange is celebrating 100 years as a Montpelier community institution. The Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall is planning two celebrations to mark this special anniversary, to further build the hall’s arts and cultural programming, and to thank the community of volunteers that sustain the hall as one of the best dance halls in New England.
The Sunday, March 1st event features an afternoon of family dancing from 3:30-5:00 pm, a Thai curry dinner from 5-6 pm , and an evening of contra dancing from 6:00-8:30 pm. Admission for adults is $10 to dance/$10 to dine; admission for kids is $5 to dance/$5 to dine.
The second celebration event, a contra dance with Perpetual e-Motion and Will Mentor is scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2015.
All proceeds of these events benefit the Capital City Grange Hall Projects & Programming.
The Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to ensure the long term sustainability of the Hall on Northfield Street in Berlin as a venue for the public performance of and participation in traditional dance, music, song, and other arts and as a meeting place in Central Vermont for individuals and organizations. The FCCGH supports the maintenance, improvement and public promotion of the Capital City Grange Hall.
