Contra Dance: Qwill Duvall calling to Aaron Marcus, Tory Horner, and Rosemary Powell
Our dance uses gender-neutral role terms, and we strive to be a safe place for everyone to dance. Beginners, singles, and all ages are welcome. All dances are taught.
When: 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays, 8–11 pm: newcomers lesso
n around 7:40 pm.
Where: Capital City Grange, Berlin, Vermont (on Northfield Street/Route 12 just south of the I-89 overpass).
Cost: For contras, admission is $12 for adults, $5 for kids or low-income, $20 for dance supporters–choose the right price for your budget. We ask for an additional $5 for waltz sessions, as we pay the performers and sound tech for their extra work.
What to bring: We suggest light, comfortable clothing — expect to wear short sleeves or a tank top, even in winter. Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes to preserve our floor. Bring a water bottle to refill at our water fountain/bottle filler.
Contra dancing is joyful and community oriented. We ask that everyone be kind, gentle, and respectful with each other. Everyone is welcome at our dance. We dance in close quarters touching hands with many dancers so there is always a risk of catching something. It is your choice whether or not to wear a mask.
