September Grange meeting! Meeting starts at 4:30, setup at 4:00

We’ll be meeting in person at the Grange Hall!  And there’s a Zoom link if you can’t make it to the Hall.

We’ll have the exhaust fan on, and the windows open, and the Room Air Filter Boxes running, of course.

Agenda will include:

•  Financial update–how are we doing now that contra-dancing has started up for a few  months, and more events are happening?
• Berlin property tax bill–we were surprised to get a tax bill for the “Education” portion of the property tax bill, after having Berlin voters support our Town Ballot Article on March 1st, which called for “continuation of the full property tax exemption” for the Grange, by a 4 to 1 ratio.   Merry and I will report on our unsatisfactory meeting with the Berlin Selectboard, and we will discuss our next steps.
• Election of officers:   every 2 years, we must elect new officers.   This year, we are facing the need to find a new Secretary.  Charles Martin, who has ably filled that office for–literally–decades, is ready to hang up his pen.   We will be contacting all Grange Members to see who can step into his shoes, with information on the requirements of the job.
• Champlain Valley Fair–I will have the Grange exhibit set up in the lower level during the potluck, for anyone to see–it includes a slide-show this time!
• And–we’ll have some songs to sing together–always a popular part of the meeting.
