Acoustic panel workday II–2:00 to 5:00
June 2, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
We’ll be assembling the 2nd set of acoustic panels, and hanging them on the side walls of the Grange Hall.
Kurt Giavara and I (Tim Swartz) have assembled 28 acoustic panel frames, ready to be completed and hung. Just like the first batch, we’ll need people to cut fabric, install the rock-wool acoustic batts, wrap the frames with fire-resistant, acoustically transparent fabric, staple the fabric in place, and attach hanging hardware and wooden strips. Then we’ll attach the panels to the walls. 14 of the panels are sized to fit above the windows; the rest will go between the windows.
Tools: We’ve got a couple of staple guns available, if you can bring your own that takes “Arrow T50” staples, we’ll provide those. We will have a couple of cordless drill-screwdrivers, if you can bring one that could help. We have one pair of decent fabric shears, another pair would be helpful too. We’ll provide gloves and dustmasks for those that want them.
We have one–8′ wooden stepladder, which will be necessary for attaching the top of the panels. If someone can bring another, that would be great!
