R A I N or S H I N E ! ! Celebrate our new bathrooms with a cookout at the Grange Hall!
August 1, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
RAIN or SHINE!!
(we have comfortable options!)
On August 1 celebrate the completion of Capital City Grange’s renovation projects with a cookout!
The Capital City Grange, and the Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall are celebrating the completion of our most recent projects to upgrade the Grange Hall. We have completely rebuilt our bathrooms, including adding an ADA bathroom, on the lower level, and have upgraded our fire egress from the basement.
The Saturday, August 1st event will begin at 5:30 PM, when we will be cooking burgers, hot dogs and veggie-burgers, plus sharing potluck salads and other dishes.
We have invited the many organizations and people who have made this possible. These include our Senators and Representatives, since the Legislature funds the Cultural Facilities Grant program which is providing 50% of the funding for this project, plus the Berlin Selectboard which supported our grant application, the VT State Grange Executive Committee which provided construction financing, the VT Arts Council which administers the Cultural Facilities Grants, and all of the contractors who worked on the project.
Donations from the Capital City Grange members and friends, especially members of the dance community provided the matching funding for the Cultural Facilities Grant.
Additional support for fund-raising for the project was generously provided by the Vermont Community Foundation, National Life Group, Noyle W. Johnson Insurance, and Ben & Jerry’s Foundation.
The meal will be followed at 8:00 by one of the regular contra-dances which happen on every 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays. This is a separate event, with an admission price of $9.00, featuring Dave Eisenstadt calling dances with live music by “Riptide”. You are of course welcome to stay for this event as well!
