Noon to 5:00 PM–help us assemble and hang 18 acoustic panels!
February 23, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 6:30 pm
The Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall have been working on some acoustic panels, which we hope will reduce the “reverb” in the Main Hall.
We now have frames completely assembled for 24 panels, and we need some help installing the acoustic batts which will fill them, stretching on the acoustic fabric that will cover them, attaching cleats to hang them on the wall opposite the stage–and hanging them up! Here’s a picture of Kurt Giavara, putting the back panel on one of the frames:
And here’s a picture of where we plan to hang the first 18 panels:
We’ll be looking for people who can bring staple guns to help put on the fabric–we’ll have staples to fit “Arrow T50” staple guns, and we’ll try to provide other types if you tell us what you can bring. Contact Tim Swartz: swartztim15@gmail.com, or 802-225-8921 to let me know, or to ask any questions.
We’ll also be listening for feedback on how various Grange users think the panels have affected the “sound” of the Grange–we’ve had complaints from dancers, singing groups, Grange meetings and other users, and we want to improve the clarity of dance callers, musicians, singers, speakers at meetings, and everyone else. Once we hear how the panels work, we can decide to make more, put them on other walls, etc.
