SUMMARY:Kids Trade and Play setup--9:00 to 11:00
DESCRIPTION:Erin and volunteers will be setting up the bins for Saturday’s event at the Grange Hall. \nWe’ll also be moving tables and chairs\, and some of the plastic curtains that have kept dust out of the cafeteria area\, during the construction process for our basement renovation.   That is getting close to completion! \nWe will also need help on Saturday\, when KT&P closes up\, to move the storage shelves into the alcove used for the kids play area\, and also the movable tables.  We’ll be clearing the floor of the cafeteria\, for people to install new ceiling panels next week–they will arrive on a truck on Monday morning.  Then after that\, the new carpet tiles will be installed on the floor–first in the main area\, then (after we move everything out) in the alcove.

SUMMARY:Noon to 5:00 PM--help us assemble and hang 18 acoustic panels!
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall have been working on some acoustic panels\, which we hope will reduce the “reverb” in the Main Hall. \nWe now have frames completely assembled for 24 panels\, and we need some help installing the acoustic batts which will fill them\, stretching on the acoustic fabric that will cover them\, attaching cleats to hang them on the wall opposite the stage–and hanging them up!  Here’s a picture of Kurt Giavara\, putting the back panel on one of the frames: \n \nAnd here’s a picture of where we plan to hang the first 18 panels: \n \n  \nWe’ll be looking for people who can bring staple guns to help put on the fabric–we’ll have staples to fit “Arrow T50” staple guns\, and we’ll try to provide other types if you tell us what you can bring.  Contact Tim Swartz:  swartztim15@gmail.com\, or 802-225-8921 to let me know\, or to ask any questions. \nWe’ll also be listening for feedback on how various Grange users think the panels have affected the “sound” of the Grange–we’ve had complaints from dancers\, singing groups\, Grange meetings and other users\, and we want to improve the clarity of dance callers\, musicians\, singers\, speakers at meetings\, and everyone else.  Once we hear how the panels work\, we can decide to make more\, put them on other walls\, etc.

SUMMARY:Grange Hall clean-up!
DESCRIPTION:Cleaning up the main Hall\, windows\, stage\, etc.–bring vacuums\, gloves\, window-cleaning supplies\, or use the supplies Merry and I bring.   We want to get the Hall ready for our Open House on May 7th.\nAfter the clean-up\, for folks who want to take part in the CDU dance in the evening.  Merry and I will offer use of our shower and a couple of beds for napping\, at our home in Northfield Falls.
