Removing the Hall Floor—Oct. 7 & 8: I sent out a brief report about the very successful volunteer project to remove the original floorboards from the Hall Floor on Sunday and Monday. Here's a little more information, with a list of the volunteers who made it possible. I'm including a direct link to the Grange website photo gallery where you can see pictures of the work in process.
The Montpelier newspaper The Bridge published a feature article about the floor replacement project. Nat Frothingham interviewed Patty Giavara of the Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall and others to produce a well-researched story. Welcome to August! It's been a busy summer, and I've been distracted as the company for which I work has moved from Northfield to Randolph, after being flooded in the Hurricane Irene rains that poured down the Dog River. Now that our move is complete, I have a bit more time and energy to devote to Grange work.
